Murchison Falls National Park

A wildlife sanctuary that always makes a splash

Named after the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the Nile River surges through a narrow gorge and plunges 43 metres below, this is Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. The park is home to elephants, lions, giraffes, leopards and an impressive array of birdlife, including the iconic shoebill stork.

Game drives across sweeping savannahs and boat cruises along the Nile offer spectacular wildlife sightings, while chimpanzee tracking in Budongo Forest provides a fascinating contrast to the open plains.
